Review for Deborah's Place, Chicago, IL, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Of all of the homeless service agencies in Chicago, I believe that Deborah's Place is among the most innovative, dynamic and inclusive. I have been involved with this agency for 25 years in a variety of roles, and the love and dedication of all involved has never ceased to amaze me. It is truly a place where lives are changed.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Seeing women who had given up hope begin to dream again. It's more than just providing a roof over their heads; it's the connection with the world around them and the community with other women, as well as the innovative service approaches, that makes this agency work.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I would make the community more aware of this incredible resource.

Role:  Professional with expertise in this field & I began as a Deborah's Place volunteer in 1985 and joined the staff two years later. Over 25 years, I have seen many women make positive changes in their lives as they reconnected to themselves and their community.

The Corporations for Supportive Housing provides a valuable service to the housing community in Chicago as well as nationwide. The CSH staff is skilled and knowledgeable - the best in the field. The are on the cutting edge of developing programs and approaches to ending homelessness. What an asset to the social service arena in our city!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

CSH has advocated for the funding needed to provide housing and desperately needed services for people who are homeless. They are responsible for helping to keep supportive housing alive and viable, even in tough times. People have moved on from homelessness - thanks to CSH.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

There is nothing I would change about CSH.

Role:  Professional with expertise in this field & My agency has partnered with CSH on a variety of projects.
