Review for CRRC of Canyon Lake Inc, Canyon Lake, TX, USA
One thing I know about myself is that I tend to be selfish and totally self-centered. Several years ago, I decided it was important for me to do something for someone else so, I went to CRRC and volunteered. At that time, they had plenty of volunteers at the food pantry so I worked for a few years tagging merchandise and the Thrift Store once a week. When the opportunity came, I put my name on the substitute list for the Food Pantry and eventually worked my way into a Tuesday position, keeping Mondays for the Thrift Store. Here is what I’ve learned…
The people I have had the privilege to work with are smart, energetic and totally selfless. While my talents are few, I feel like I am useful. Working at CRRC helps combat depression and keeps me physically active.
Many of the clients we serve have not much more than a lot of spirit and grateful hearts but, they have it in abundance.
So, in the end, every time I get to work I still get back so much more than I am able to give and I see every day how much the CRRC means to this community. Thanks to you all.
