I first learned of Filter of Hope in the fall of 2019. My church was organizing a mission team to go to Cuba in February 2020, to deliver life saving water filters and the soul saving word of God. Being of Cuban decent, I was more than thrilled to not only visit the country where my mother was born, but to also share my love of God. To say that the experience was soul changing would be an understatement! I was excited....and I was scared. I had never done mission work before and I wanted afraid that I wouldn't "be good at it!" The thought that my words might plant the seed in someone's heart was an awesome responsibility. It's not often that we have the opportunity to completely immerse yourself in the needs of others and the Word of God. He did not fail us! He armed us all with courage, faith, and friendship and WE DID IT! I am a beyond blessed to have had this opportunity and to meet some truly amazing people. I pray that God will bless me with an opportunity to return in 2021.
