Review for Kiva, San Francisco, CA, USA
I joined KIVA in 2007 literally WHILE VIEWING a PBS special on its founding. Micro-finance is the foundation. But what an absolutely brilliant idea, using the internet to connect micro-loan borrowers with micro-loan lenders. It's like modern day crowdfunding. KIVA does the hard work of vetting borrowers. The website is robust and very intuitive so finding new borrowers each month when I lend my repayments is easy and something I look forward forward to. The icing on the cake is that KIVA is completely transparent and responsive.
Review for Mercy Beyond Borders, Santa Clara, CA, USA
We've know Sr. Marilyn for over 20 years, since before she founded Mercy Beyond Borders. We were not at all surprised that the focus of MBB would be girls and women in countries with the greatest need, Sudan, then Haiti.
When women have jobs or a business their priority is educating their children. When girls are educated the entire community is changed. We traveled to Haiti twice to help with the English language immersion classes and saw first hand the impact.
Review for Mercy Beyond Borders, Santa Clara, CA, USA
In addition to being long time donors, my wife and I volunteered at English Language Summer Camps in Haiti for the girls that MBB supports. We saw first hand the impact of our our donations. Eye opening doesn't begin to describe what we observed. I saw the 85 year old woman that Sr. Marilyn talks about writing on the chalkboard, ABSOLUTELY DETERMINED to write her name. Rest assured, each and every penny that you're able to donate will be put to good use.
When women learn, women matter.
Then everything changes!
We are so grateful for your unwavering support! Thank you for all you do to uplift the women and girls we serve!!
