Review for Lords Pantry of Downingtown, Downingtown, PA, USA
I have been going to the Lords Pantry for over a year now. I am a single mother of two growing Boys ages 17 and 11. I was making $45,000/yr when I lost my job due to this economic crisis. I depleted my savings and had no where else but to turn to some social services. I was turned down by alot of places due to the fact that I do earn some type of income but it just does not seem like enough to make it in these times. Everything seems to be on the rise but wages. So a friend suggessted I turn to the Lords Pantry, which I must tell you I was resistent to do because I was ashamed of not being able to provide as well as I used to for my children. Jan and the staff made me feel completely at ease and never made me feel less than "normal". They have supplied my kids with christmas gifts, back to school items and other numerous donations. I am also a full time human service major in college and hope to one day be able to give back to this great organization. It is good to have a place to go for people like me, who are considered not poor enough to receive state aid but yet not rich enough to self sustain. Jan and the staff are courteous and gracious and God will bless them someday for the work they do ffor this community. If we had more people like them in this world it would be such a better place.
