This is my fourth season serving as a horticulture zone volunteer on the Greenway and one of the memorable, as for a while, I didn't think it would happen. The volunteer program was put on hold in early March due to pandemic and restrictions put in place by the governor and mayor. We kept in touch and we're pleased that we were able to start up in early June. We must follow a set of procedures (walk or ride a bike, masks, six-feet, bring own tools and gloves) but I'm pleased to be working with a new horticulturist on staff and repeating my time with a fellow volunteer that I've worked with for the past two years. We're planting, weeding and watering for one-half day a week and its very satisfying and a great break from the usual routine. Pleased to help keep the greenway a little greener.
