I was lucky enough to have met one of the volunteers from the Gabriel House at an ice cream store last August. Her name is Rebecca Armstrong. She attentively listened to my story of my recent cancer diagnosis, and that I was a patient at Mayo Clinic. She then told us about Gabriel House and set up for us a tour for the next day. We fell in love with all of it! It definitely surprised my husband and I at how elegant yet inviting it is! We have stayed there twice; in October and in December during two of my four treatments. We loved the family feel of the facility, meeting other patients and their care givers. We appreciated the way the kitchen is set up. And the fact that it was so clean and orderly. It was easy to find dishes, utensils, pots and pans etc.
The entire house was clean and organized. The staff is second to none! When I need treatment again, I pray that they will have room for us! The photo I am sharing is me last December admiring the different Christmas trees that adorned the house. This particular one is a butterfly theme. I found out later it was the one Rebecca and the fellow volunteers from the Gabriel House decorated
