The Southern Heritage Air Foundation has performed a great public service by collecting and preserving first hand experiences as well as primary documentation concerning aviation and aerospace related experience of people and machines from Louisiana and Mississippi. They have done an excellent job conducting oral interviews with veteran from all military branches that served in aviation related fields. Perhaps, without this service many of the stories and experiences would have been lost to time.
With the current rising death rate of Combat Veterans from World War II, The Korean Conflict, Vietnam, Desert Storm, etc., it is essential that this service continues, so that we can collect experiences from the past and transfer them to future generations. With their multiple multiple historic preservation, teaching and learning programs, the Southern Heritage Air Foundation is competent and able to perform this task.
