International Children's Fund is one of the most legitimate non-profits out there. No corporate nonsense, nearly all of the donations go to the people who need it. I know that the president has taken a $0 salary many times to ensure the organization can continue to do what it does.

They work in country with partners there, and they support their local economies. Brilliant.
