Shortly after moving to San Diego with the Navy, I came across a book at the bookstore detailing the life of Travis Manion. Upon completion I reached out to the local chapter for the Manion foundation and began participating in various volunteer programs. Anytime I had the opportunity to volunteer I jumped at the chance. One of the bigger programs I got to be a part of was the, Character does matter program. Working with various youth groups in the area, it was great to be able to share my experiences and provide that positive role model. It was also great to see the bright minds of todays youth pave the way for bright future. The Travis Manion Foundation is great for those serving to continue to give back in off time as well as veterans looking to still serve and give back.
