Raptor Inc. is one of the gems of the Greater Cincinnati area, and I'm proud to support their work with these magnificent birds. It's amazing to be able to see them up close during one of the educational programs (especially Earl the turkey vulture - love her!).

Some years ago I got to talk with one of the volunteers who had brought a few of the birds to the veterinarian for talon trims (just like getting your toenails trimmed and a routine part of bird care). He had a few interesting stories to tell about Earl and vultures in general. And it was a joy to see their great horned owl up close and personal. It was a reminder of how fortunate we are to share our planet with these creatures and how important they are for our own well being.
