Review for Christian World Outreach, Littleton, CO, USA
In 1996 I went on my first ever short-term mission trip and my life was changed forever. A group of 24 women, 2 pre-teen girls and 2 men traveled to Haiti to work at the Christian World Outreach (CWO) Feminine Training Center. We cleaned and painted the building, taught sewing and cooking classes to the women who attended the school. The center is specifically to provide women with skills that will enable to them earn money to support their families. The part about changing my life forever? Being with those women, seeing the conditions in which they live, knowing how they are often treated as second-class people and then seeing the difference in their lives after graduating from the 2-year program touched my heart and mind. Before going on that trip, I was really, really scared and figured my husband would say he didn't want me to go. He didn't say that so - gulp! - the next thing I know I'm headed to Haiti! After that trip? I told God I would go wherever
He wanted me to go. Since then I have been to Africa 3 times and Haiti a number of times. Christian World Outreach also has a training center for women in Burkina Faso, Africa, as well as a program for orphaned children in Zimbabwe. The ministries of Christian World Outreach in Africa and Haiti are changing lives. CWO has an active Board of Directors in Littleton CO who meet regularly with the President of the organization. The administrative fees are kept to a minimum in order to put as much money as possible into ministry. Christian World Outreach is making a difference in the lives of hundreds of women and children. You, too, can help make a difference by giving to CWO.
