As a veteran who has always had a passion for horses I knew upon leaving the military that I wanted to immerse myself back into equestrian life with my forever horse. It was The Medicine Horse Project that made this dream become reality. My forever friend, Jedi, was rescued and rehabilitated by them. He had been long neglected and abused to the point of losing an eye. This was never a deterrent in his care through the rescue. The love, kindness, and healing they provided was reflected through him while I watched his recovery from afar over time. When he was ready for adoption, I was able to go meet him and see what he was like. It was very clear to me that he trusted the rescue, and absolutely loved Chris, Morgan, and many other volunteers who helped facilitate him back to being healthy. It was love at first sight. The Medicine Horse Project introduced me to a lifelong best friend, and I will be forever grateful. He and I have our good days and bad days, but the bond and trust we have in each other gets us through it all. I will never be able to put into words the love I have for that horse, but I can guarantee he knows it. It would be difficult to find people who are more genuine and invested than Chris and Morgan. The love that pours out of them is easily identified when watching how animals flock to their side. Jedi fell into the hands of angels the day he was rescued by them. They gave him his life back. They truly are one of kind people.
