We adopted from HSHV! Even before we were ready to adopt, I was able to walk through with kiddos and take a look at all the amazing animals. The staff are so kind and helpful and it's clear their top priority is the welfare of the animals. You can always see volunteers playing with the animals, walking dogs, etc. Furthermore, we have used the veterinary clinic for our big dog who is very anxious. They go above and beyond to make it a smooth experience. I would recommend them over and over and over.
