This local literacy nonprofit has empowered thousands of residents over four decades and is stronger than it has ever been. They conduct a number of classes for adults, children, and families, and even go into schools to provide supplemental English language support.

I know the value of literacy. I know what it brings to a family and to a community.

I recall helping my own mother for years struggle to read children’s books like Frog and Toad. It’s a humbling experience, and one that many of our county residents know well.

We are working to eradicate illiteracy in our county, and I am so proud to be a part of the endeavor.
