I was a volunteer at rescue until 2022 when I moved to NC but I am a donor now. I have been familiar with BH since 2007. Being a former volunteer I saw first hand how Theresa and Bob take such good care of all the horses at the rescue and I have witnessed many a miracle there. They work tirelessly with little sleep most of time to insure all horses are taken care of. There are a few seniors there that need constant care and they are so well taken care of. I am proud to donate to a rescue like BH where I know every effort is made to make sure horses are taken care of.

I have been volunteering at Beauty's Haven for over 10 years now 2 days a week. When I come through gates to rescue I find such peace and whatever problems, worries etc I have are left at gate. I have many favorites but wanted to tell you about Bria. Bria was rescued late last year and was in terrible shape. Her body was a 1 on Henneke scale. Theresa right away had team assembled - vet, dentist, farrier etc - to look at her. She had been so malnourished and could hardly walk. I thought she would not make it but with the “team” Theresa assembled Bria put on much needed weight, her teeth were fixed and she had soft ride boots put on her feet so she could walk better. I have never bonded with a horse the way I was bonded to Bria. I was so encouraged watching how it was painful for her to walk but walk she did - until she couldn’t-even then Theresa made sure she didn’t suffer any more. I was heartbroken that she had to be put down but I knew she was going to better place and I pictured her running again in green fields. And I knew all horses that have passed at rescue would be there to welcome her home.
I have learned so much from Theresa over the years. I call her a horse listener because as many of us volunteers can attest to she has way with the horses and when we can’t catch horse she just goes out there and they come to her. Theresa and Bob have given up so much to run the rescue. They are truly dedicated to the horses and their care.
When their time on earth is over they will get to rainbow bridge and all the horses will be there to greet them and God will be with there too and say to them you have fought the good fight, you have finished the race, you have kept the faith.
