I've adopted several birds from Mickaboo and was very happy to be able to adopt rather than to just buy from a pet shop or breeders. Parrots are long lived and are not like dogs or cats; many people buy them and then find they're not like they're portrayed on TV or movies. That's where Mickaboo comes in. Mickaboo fosters birds, but works very hard, with a completely volunteer staff, to publicize birds for adoption, and to ensure that potential adopters are prepared for the commitment needed to take care of adopted birds, large or small.
