In July 2014 my family flew from Seattle to Kauai for 2-week vacation. We absolutely LOVE the field trips at Kauai Humane Society. We “borrowed” a beautiful 9-month old pup named Kenya and it was love at first sight. We adopted Kenya, changed her name to Koa, keeping her Hawaiian heritage alive, and flew her home with us to Seattle to meet her big brother, Max. My friends who were on the island also sponsored 4 puppies and flew them back to Seattle too for adoption here. I tell everyone about Kauai Humane Society and every time we are back we donate and go on field trips. My next dog will come from here too I’m sure. I wish more shelters would offer this amazing field trip opportunity. Here’s a couple photos of our adopted Koa and another of Humphrey, another beautiful dog we took for a field trip another year.
