Review for The Wild Animal Sanctuary, Keenesburg, CO, USA
I've been a supporter of this Sanctuary for years and what they have done and accomplished (and continue to do) over those years is beyond words. It is heart wrenching to consider what humans do to these magnificent animals...unbearable....imagine being a beautiful black bear confined in a small concrete cage on the side of the road in the blazing hot sun with no shade and little or no water while passers by gawk at and taunt you for their amusement....or think of being a majestic lion being kept as a pet in someone's garage and fed Whiska's cat food....or being a regal tiger and having your claws pulled out with pliers because they were sharp and dangerous. These are but a small sample of the types of cruelties that we humans have inflicted on these majestic animals with whom we share the planet. What right do we have? NONE! Just imagine. Forty years ago that's exactly what Pat Craig did and he set out to do something about it. The Wild Animal Sanctuary is a life saving oasis for the animals who are fortunate enough to end up there to live out their lives....as close to wild as possible. But oh the battles that have to be fought to rescue these animals....it's unforgivable what's done to animals for profit and entertainment. Mankind should be ashamed. There is a special place in Heaven for Pat Craig, his staff and all the Volunteers of this amazing place....and a special place on Earth for these amazing animals. That place is The Wild Animal Sanctuary. Far, far exceeds expectations!
