Review for Turpentine Creek Foundation Inc, Eureka Springs, AR, USA

Rating: 5 stars

A wonderful place to visit and learn about the history of the lions, tigers, bears, and other animals rescued from deplorable conditions. Turpentine Creek provides tender loving care and forever homes to these animals. The work and care provided by interns and staff is outstanding. Spending a night or two on the grounds, listening to the lions carol at night is truly a unique experience.

Turpentine Creek is amazing. Everyone who works and volunteers are sincere and caring individuals with all the rescues. Their knowledge and obvious love for the well being of each rescue is heartwarming. We have visited and stayed on sight several times over the past 9 years. We have seen many changes made over the years with the large grassy habitats, heated dens, the vet clinic, education opportunities, and many others. Improvements made to handle additional cats and bears who thru no fault of their own, needed rescuing from some intolerable environments. TCWR's only goal for these animals is to provide a lifelong home of peace and happiness. We love visiting and our grandkids enjoy staying overnight and listening to the lions caroling. The tours are lead by staff who tell the history of how each animal came to Turpentine and provide details as to how we can help put a stop to the abuse.

After reading the other reviews I don't know what I can add. The animals cared for at TCWR are so fortunate to be here. The staff, interns, volunteers are dedicated to making sure they have a "forever" life here. It's so obvious to see the love that is felt for each animal. TCWR has grown over the years. We have visited the refuge since 2010. Not only has the individual habitat areas grown, but so has the effort to educate the public about the horrors of the big cat industry, not only in private ownership but also in unsanctioned "zoos". The stories of what most of these animals have been thru are heart wrenching. We brought our grandson's to their summer camp program last year and they loved the whole experience. We have stayed in the Siberian suite 3 times. It is located beside one of the tiger habitats. We all enjoy watching out the window or sitting on the porch and watching and listening to all the animals. I can't put into words what a unique experience this is.
