I retired a few years ago and was looking for a way to give back to our wonderful city.  My neighbor told me about the Assistance League where she volunteers so I went to a new membership meeting to find out all about the volunteer opportunities available.  I have been a volunteer for 2 1/2 years in the Marketing and Sorting Department with this wonderful non-profit organization, and I am amazed at the incredible programs that benefit our community.  For over 40 years, ALLV has been an all-volunteer organization with no paid staff.  It is a wonderful group of people who volunteer hundreds of hours each year and give back to our community.  Our members work tirelessly and are totally committed in their job function where they volunteer.  It is such a fun place to take my friends to shop for that special one of a kind trinket or gently used clothing that we sell.  I truly feel I make a difference and encourage anyone looking for a rewarding experience to consider volunteering at ALLV.
