Review for Bunny Lu Adoptions Inc, Waynesboro, VA, USA
I couldn't disagree with the prior posting more vehemently. I actually believe it is a straight up lie. While I don't actually work with the rescue, I have spoken with the director personally. I have never heard Mary Ellen (the woman who uses her own money, and lots of her time) to keep this operation afloat Ever turn down a rabbit because it wasn't aesthetically pleasing. What they don't do- and I have a sneaking suspicion this may be the case of the previous poster- is place a foster or adopted rabbit with a family that is not equipped to provide a safe and stable home for said rabbit. Unbeknownst to most people, rabbits are not low maintenance pets. No reputable shelter will set up any pet for failure. Ofyen times, people will end realizing that a rabbit is hard work, expensive, and time consuming. These people will often end up returning the rabbit, abandon it outside (certain death for a domesticated rabbit) or even worse.
