I was an independent individual until the age of 44. Life as a type 1 diabetic left my eye sight shattered. I more and more sheltered at home. Only going outside when I had someone to help. I found Guide Dogs of Texas. I found my independence again and at the age of 52 graduated from college. I would never have the opportunities that I now have without the help of my heros.
