Review for New Community Counseling And Ministries, Naperville, IL, USA
I received a note via email from a "FREECYCLER" offering free bananas. I love bananas and have one daily with my protein shake, PERFECT, I thought. I responded. Turns out, the house was just a block away from me and I met a woman, Christine, who runs an amazing ministry! Her ministry brings fresh food to those in need and she is also is passionate about finding and creating real homes for families in need. We clicked right away and I began offering my services picking up fresh bread weekly and helping with food distributions. I'm also a client. Being that I'm disabled and cannot work and my husband, in remodeling, isn't finding work, we are taking advantage of this awesome opportunity that www.newcommunityministries.org has brought to Naperville, IL. God brought Christine & I together with bananas and I enjoy helping her with her causes to help others. She gave up her home to allow families to thrive and uses the garage to keep refridgerators for food distribution. God is doing amazing work through Christine and we hope that New Community Ministries will be able to get the funding necessary to provide ongoing help for families in need as well as a permanent place for hosting refridgerators and distributions for food!

I've been able to take advantage of the services of New Community Ministries by receiving food weekly for my family. Being that New Community is a grassroots organization and is run by volunteers who may also be clients, I've been able to meet other people who are in need of help in these tough economic times.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Magically find a permanent source of funding so housing can be provided for displaced families in need with the appropriate counseling and encouragement needed to succeed as a family unit, in whatever capacity that is. I would see that New Community Ministries had a permanent address for hosting fresh food distributions that is safe and food friendly. Funding is seriously needed to see this organization thrive.
