Review for National Humane Education Society, Charles Town, WV, USA
My husband and I were looking for a dog. We had been to several animal shelters in the DMV area. But we couldn’t find the right dog for us until we came across the website of Briggs Animal Adoption Center (BAAC) in WV. BAAC is a bit far from where we live. But we were so glad that we went there. Because we found the perfect furry friend for our family. The entire experience with BAAC was fantastic. The shelter was very clean and organized. And the staff were very kind and helpful. The adoption fee was very reasonable as well. We were accompanied by an Adoption Counselor, Sam Mills. Sam showed us all the dogs and went through the adoption process with us. We did the meet and greet with two furry balls- Sansa and her sister Marigold. We fell in love with Sansa right away. She is the sweetest dog ever. Sansa was under the heart worm treatment at that time. It means that we could not adopt her right away until she completed her treatment. Sam said that we could foster her first, but we needed to bring her back to the vet in the shelter once month to perform the rest of the heartworm treatments. So we did. In the next three months, we had more interactions with the staff in BAAC, including the vet. All of them were wonderful. Now Sansa is heart worm free and we finally adopted her. She brought us so much joy, especially in this difficult time. So I would like to say “Thank you, Sam! Thank you, BAAC!”
