Rating:5 stars June 3, 2020 In the summer of 2019, I was selected to attend the first on-site training of Elephant Ambassadors at The Elephant Sanctuary (TES) in Hohenwald, Tennessee. I have been a supporter and Ambassador of the sanctuary since 2017 and I found this experience to be both exhilarating and inspiring. As Ambassadors, we not only spent time learning about the sanctuary but we also created "toys" for the elephants and brainstormed learning opportunities for future trainees. We toured the Elephant Discovery Center and experienced the Distance Learning Program both of which help to educate the public about the lives of elephants in the wild and in captivity. We had time to peruse this beautiful facility as we learned about the excellent and individualized care provided for the eleven elephants residing at TES. Because of the commitment and dedication of The Elephant Sanctuary staff, Board of Directors, and supporters, these magnificent animals are able to spend the rest of their lives with family and the freedom that they so deserve. The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee is a true gem and work of "heart." I congratulate TES on the celebration their 25th Anniversary and assure them of my continued support. Role: Volunteer
