Review for HopeKids, Scottsdale, AZ, USA

Rating: 5 stars

My daughter has an autoimmune disease and she always feels like an outcast. Then we met HopeKids. They are an incredible group of people that provide so many awesome, fun events and nobody is left out! My daughter loves being able to attend the events and getting to meet so many new families. We love being a part of HopeKids!

My daughter has been a member of HopeKids since 2019 I believe. They have allowed us to enjoy time together without the stress of any medical concerns or financial concerns. Without HopeKids, we wouldn't be able to go out and do any activities. We are so very thankful for this program and all the people involved.

My daughter, Kenzie, has an disease called Juvenile Dermatomyositis. She was diagnosed in 2017 at the age of 4. She couldn't walk. She always had pain. She was covered in a rash. She has always felt out of place and like nobody likes her. Kenzie and I went to Cure JM conference in Chicago last year to learn more about the disease and treatments. While there, we met the Austin family. Their little girl Liv also has JDM and lives close to us! The Austin family told us about HopeKids after our trip to Chicago. I immediately signed Kenzie up for it and got approved. We absolutely love it! Kenzie doesn't feel out of place, she can do things at her own pace. She loves to hang out with her best friend, Liv. It's also helped financially in a sense because they provide no charge to us and we get to attend so many awesome events. And the events are wheelchair accessible in case Kenzie needs hers. Our favorites so far are definitely the movies at Alama Drafthouse and TopGolf. Hopekids makes you feel welcomed no matter what you are going through. I love that they can provide a fun family night out where hopefully you can forget about the illness for a little while. Its nice to hang out with other families and have good fun and laughs.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Do Nothing! They are already amazing!
