While still pregant with my son CJ we found out he was going to be born with Down syndrome. I called the Kennedy-Donovan Center in Attleboro right away looking for guidance. I was given such support and as soon as CJ was born the KDC staff became part of lives. With weekly visits, evaluations and many therapies over the 3 years we felt our son was given the best possible intervention he could recieve. We were contantly grateful to the staff for giving us the tools and strength we needed to feel confident about raising our son with special needs. All the therapists were so knowledgeable and caring we couldn't believe how hard they worked and the high expectations they had for our child. This made us even more determined to help make CJ the best he can be. I truly feel without such support we never would be where we are today and have such high hopes for our son. CJ is now 9 years old and in a regular 3rd grade with his friends and peers. He gets support in his acadmics and works hard everyday for all his teachers. He is also involved in Special Olympics and is a Boyscout. We have always kept in touch and try to support the KDC whenever we can. We know first hand how important the work they do is for children and families who need them.
