Review for Heroes on the Water, Allen, TX, USA
I have been volunteering with Heroes On The Water for two years now. This organization really does care about helping Veterans and their families. I've never seen such a transformation in people in such a short amount of time. Veterans will show up withdrawn, quiet, not making eye contact and nervous but give them an hour on the water just paddling and fishing and they start to open up. You will hear hoots and cheers from both volunteers and Vets as someone reels in a big one or catches for the first time. When we break for lunch you really see the difference. They are smiling, joking, asking about gear, and most of all ....... when can I do this again !
I found HOW through my Husband who became ill and is now oxygen dependent. He had been a kayak fisherman before and thought it was over for him based on his illness. HOW welcomed him with open arms even though he's not a Veteran, and taught him how to fish with his limitations. Now he has dedicated his life to showing others how to fish with theirs.
I am honored to be involved with such a top notch group and can't wait to get on the water with our fine Veterans !

Review for Grove Christian Outreach Center, Williamsburg, VA, USA
I have donated as a business owner and individual, as well as volunteered and I love Grove Christian Outreach ! They are so motivated and focused on the needs of the people of Grove. This small staff does incredable things daily to serve and love this community. Thank you to all the staff and volunteers for being God's hands and feet and showing Grove what the love of Jesus looks like !
