Saheli is run by volunteers and three part-time staff. The South Asian women meet once a month in Burlington public library for several hours. They welcome all community members to attend meetings. The women are all very professional and inclusive. I attended their meeting in June. I found that it was a waste of time. It was chaotic, the agenda was not followed, people interrupted a lot, and no one was in charge. This organization does very good work for women surviving domestic violence but they cannot run meetings. They did not assign any tasks to me although I did ask how I could help. I did not get the meeting notes, they had my email address. I would like to go back again, but no one invited me to return.
