My name is Fawaz Shanun. I’m a student of University of Ghana offering Medicine. I’m currently in the final year and a privileged beneficiary of Educational Pathways International’s (EPI) scholarship programme. I say privileged because it was an opportunity of a lifetime given to me. But for the financial support from EPI I’m not sure I would have come this far in education. Without the burden of tuition fees, residential fees, study materials as well as stipend I’ve been able to pay more attention to my academics and exceled. My social life as well as other aspects of my life have also seen improvement since I joined EPI family. EPI has been such a blessing in my life.

I chose to study Medicine to impart the lives of people by restoring good health and saving lives. This I believe is my God’s purpose for me on earth. I would like to be specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the near future. I believe women are at the core of everybody’s lives and I believe taking care of them is tantamount to taking care of the whole world.

God willing in the near future I would like to use this glorious opportunity I’ve been given to impart the lives of young ones who for one reason or the other find themselves in a deprived situation like I did. I would love to organize medical outreaches in some of the less privileged communities in Ghana and with the help of God expand to other countries in Africa.
