Review for The National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Washington, DC, USA

Rating: 5 stars

As an NSCS for 3 years now I can say that NSCS has definitely helped me in terms of scholarship and leadership opportunities. During my first year as a scholar, I joined my chapter board as Recording Secretary, then after noticing what could be improved within my chapter I decided to become Chapter President my junior year. Through effective board delegation and member engagement, my chapter earned Platinum status among other awards for our hard work as a chapter. During this time I also earned some scholarships for my leadership and involvement in my chapter. Currently, as a senior I stepped down to take the more minor roles of Professional Development Chair and Scholarship Chair, to dedicate more time to post-grad opportunities while helping others do the same. I never knew that going into college I would be so involved in a student org and earn scholarships that would help my career goals. I would recommend NSCS to anyone who wants to grow not only as a scholar in academia but grow as a leader in the chapter they serve.

NSCS has given me long-lasting leadership opportunities for my career success. When I first joined I was a college freshman and new member of NSCS. In my sophomore year I was the Secretary, and this coming year I'll be the Chapter President. NSCS has given me the space to grow as a college student and as a future career professional. I encourage anyone who is a member of NSCS to find leadership opportunities through officer positions and challenge your leadership and communications skills.
