My Nonprofit Reviews

Amatul-lah
Review for Educational Pathways International, Incline Village, NV, USA
My name is Mahmud Amatul-lah, a beneficiary of Educational Pathways International (EPI). I am a student of the University for Development Studies (UDS), Ghana. I am offering Community Nutrition.
Educational Pathways International (EPI) is the backbone of my stay in the University. Due to EPI, I have been able to continue the study of the program I am offering. This is because all the expenses concerning my education which was a great challenge and burden has been taken care of by EPI. This has instilled in me hope of completing my program of study in the shortest possible period. I am saying this because before I had this scholarship, payment for my entry into the University was a great worry to my parents. Monies had to be borrowed from friends and families to help put together the fees for payment to be made. Due to this, I used not have full concentration for my books as I always thought of how my next academic year's fee payment can be possible. Thoughts of deferral was what always comes to my mind. I could imagine how I would have to stay back at home for one or two years after my first year, so as to help my parents to gather the fees for the subsequent years ahead.
Thanks to God, EPI came into my life as a second parent helping with the payment of all my academic expenses. This has changed the then hopelessness to a state of hope for my education and future God willing.
Moreover, one unique thing about EPI is that apart from taking care of one's academic expenses, it as well trains and teaches its beneficiaries some basic activities and skills worth knowing to prepare and equip us for the future especially in the corporate world and the world outside of school in general.. Not leaving out, always reminding us on the reason for being in school and thus, the need to be up and doing and maintaining better grade so as to stay in the scholarship programme.
I chose Community Nutrition simply because I like to serve humanity. Community Nutritionists aim at educating and ensuring that preventive measures are kept into practice to help prevent the occurrence of health related problems. Therefore from the grass root, which is before conception, all the way down to old age can be properly managed by Nutritionists for the overall quality of life of the human populace.
With the knowledge of nutrition, after my four years study, I would like to work in collaboration with other health care personnel, to ensure that the health of the population is secured. I would as well help to see to it that, communities especially the rural and deprived communities and the Ghanaian population as a whole are being sensitized on the need to take to preventive measures to help avoid deficiencies as well as refraining from other health threatening activities. These would include good eating habits since we are what we eat, the use of nutrient supplements as well as proper sanitation practices.
In conclusion, EPI had really transformed my life. It is an encouraging body, a beckon of hope, and a reason for my comfort. I truly appreciate every effort that this scholarship had impacted on me. I as well hope and pray that it progresses unlimitedly and extend its warm hands to embrace more gifted and needy students. This would help unleash the potentials of lots of students to aid in the development of our country Ghana and the world at large.
Thank you EPI, I am indeed very grateful.
