Am Margaret Morgan Wright, a third year student of University for Development Studies-Ghana, offering Doctor of Medical Laboratory Science.
As a needy and brilliant student who have goals to achieve in life, my focus was and has always been to attain higher education. Making my goals a reality was a difficult task and because of that after completing high school, I worked a year to earn and save money to cater for my tertiary education. The problem was how much can I earn to save in other to take care of myself and also for an averagely of four years in university. A child of a petty trader and a carpenter whose income cannot even sustain the house expenditure neither to think of paying for University education for their ward. I gain admission to University for Development Studies and the worry I had most was how my fees and other needs were going to be taken care of, in the subsequent years in school.
I would like to use this opportunity to thank Educational Pathways International (EPI) Scholarship for your generous support. I was very happy and appreciative to learn that I had been selected as one of the recipients of Educational Pathway International Scholarship for 2018 year group. This scholarship have taken all my financial burden off me and this has boast my zeal in pursing my education and my career. Since the scholarship covers school fees, hostel fees, books and stipend for my up-keep, it has enabled me to focus much more on my academics. It has also helped me to have a sound and stress-free mind for studying hard and maintaining a better GPA.
I chose Doctor of Medical Laboratory Science because of the passion I have to help others as the motor reads "service to humanity" and the competitive earning in the health sector. After my tertiary education, I would love to further my education and follow my dream as an Entrepreneur and a Lecturer as well.
EPI’s generosity has inspired me to help others and give back to society. In my long term future goal, I would love to have a well modern science laboratory which will be rendering quality service to humanity. This will create job opportunities for the community and the society as a whole. My employees and I will be having free screening twice in six months and an outreach to selected rural and deprived communities in my country, Ghana. I would also love to be embarking on a project called "save a life also", which I will be moving from one educational institution to another on the campaign of the health personnel role in health care of the individual.
All these will be possible because EPI’s scholarship has taken the responsibility of taking care of my University Education. I am one step closer to my goal because you have made it possible for me to believe so.
Without a doubt, this scholarship will play a key role in achieving my dreams because of Educational Pathway International scholarship generosity of taken care of the financial burden placed on me to pursue my education. That means I can now spend more time on my studies and less time worrying about any other thing.
