Review for Educational Pathways International, Incline Village, NV, USA
My name is Shaibu Abubakar, a second year Medical Laboratory Technology student at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana.
I have been part of the Educational Pathways International for 2 years and my time with other members of this family has been a blessing both academically and social wise. In my two years as a member of this great family, I have met students from different backgrounds and social standing and I have learnt a lot from them.
Our monthly general meetings involving all members of the EPI family at the KNUST campus have been educative. I have learnt a great deal from other members of the family and from our Program Director. I have learnt about the corporate world and how to overcome the challenges in it after school, how to study effectively, writing a comprehensive curriculum vita and whole lot of other stuff that are not taught in lecture rooms. I have had the opportunity to learn from home during long vacations through Internship programmes thanks to Educational Pathways International.
Growing up I wanted be to a Research Scientist to aid my country in finding lasting treatments to neglected tropical diseases. Growing up in the slums of northern Ghana, that dream never really looked bleak unlike what it looks today, achievable, thanks to Educational Pathways International scholarship scheme. That dream looks really closer than it looked 2 years ago before I became a member of the big EPI family.
Giving back to society has always been my motive. It is a fulfilling and satisfactory feeling that one gets when he/she gives has the ability to help others, no matter how little it may be. It is our collective responsibility to make our societies and the whole world a better place to live that is why I intend to give back to the society that made me in any possible way that I can.
I would like to say a very thank you to Educational Pathways International for the wonderful work that they have been doing. Many dreams have become realities through their efforts and good work.
