I am a single mom with 3 children and live in different homeless situations across the island of O'ahu. I am so happy to have this organization here for my children regardless what happens they always come. I am one of the families that is often in their stories on social media because we have been with them for over 8 years. I will never forget the first time i met them. They came to our encampment and asked around if there were children living in this area. Most of us said no because we don't want to lose our children. Magin knew that we were not being honest by the area. She left her card and said if any children show up can they text me for Easter baskets. I texted the list of all the children who lived here. We waiting thinking that they would never come back anyway. I was so happy to see them pull up with a van full of baskets for all our children. My daughter was 2 years old and this was something she would never forget. Now we are moving into a rental home and sure enough over the last years Magin has always been there for us. She brings everything we need. She feeds us when we can't feed ourselves. Now she is helping us get the needs for our home. She has provided me so many opportunities to get a job and even takes us around when we have appointments.
My children may have been born on the beach and I may have been addicted to drugs, but she didn't care. She cared for us and now we are moving forward with success. Working and getting a place to stay. My son is now in high school and has the self worth to graduate. He is going to be ok, we are all going to be ok now thanks to their continued support.
