I wanted to do more. I wanted to get involved with an organization that is dedicated to helping those who are in need. And, I wanted to write in some capacity. The Borgen Project was my answer. I did my research about the organization and I was sold from the beginning. The guidance I received, I not only learned how to be a better, more effective writer, I learned how to tell the stories of those I wrote about. The team at Borgen guided and offered constructive feedback which made me want to be better. The weekly assignments from emailing, calling my congress leaders and advocating by mobilizing and fundraising left me feeling a sense of pride and a sense of worth that I sought at the beginning.

The team is always available to answer any questions and they give guidance on how to overcome shyness or nervousness. At the end of the program, I'm leaving more confident about my abilities to advocate and speak on behalf of those who aren't able to speak for themselves. Because of The Borgen Project, I now write with purpose and intention.

I can't thank them enough. If you're looking to grow and do work that's greater than yourself, The Borgen Project will inspire you and bring things out of you that you never thought you were capable of accomplishing.
