NOH is not just a non-profit, it truly functions like a family. A family that cares, protects, supports, and strives for growth. NOH supports Papa's House (a children's home) and also runs a volunteering program. I have had the opportunity to meet all the volunteers that have come to Nepal in the past six months, and have also been working with the children of Papa's House.

The stories, about people, I have heard during my time at Papa's House have been deeply inspiring. I have met young girls that were rescued from indentured slavery, met children that were abandoned at birth, and children that were separated from their families. Despite the seriousness of their back stories, when you meet the children of Papa's House, you will always feel warmth and positivity radiating from them. It is amazing what NOH does to ensure that the children keep smiling, receive good education, and are well-supported to lead meaningful lives in the future.

The volunteers that come to Nepal through NOH are also wonderful. I live at the volunteer house and so have had the chance to meet volunteers from all over the world, from diverse backgrounds, with a common desire to add value to society. It is interesting to see that there is no general description of a volunteer, a volunteer could be high school student, an experienced educator, or someone that has worked in corporates their entire life. All the volunteers have amazing stories to share and become a part of the NOH family once they come to Nepal.

NOH creates positive impact through Papa's House and the volunteering program in the lives of many Nepali people and children. I am grateful that I have had the opportunity to work with people who genuinely care about making an impact and mindfully reflect to ensure that their actions have the best consequences.
