Absolutely the WORST experience in trying to support a child in Dominican Republic! We are teaching our 6 year old grandson the value of money & how to tithe/support a child in need, and we received a picture/letter from the child right away. Then we sent an $80 box of Christmas gifts at the end of November so it would have plenty of time to get there...but it never did. BTW: do NOT buy the extra insurance from a shipper - even the post office, b/c they will tell you that as soon as it leaves the states, NO MORE INSURANCE. Worse, every time I called Children's International to ask about the package, they told me to wait another month, so now IN MARCH, they finally conceded that they can put in a request to find out more, but it would be 3 more months until we "may" get an answer!! Then I asked why we received only one picture/letter from the child when we have sent several, and they told me we will only receive 2 per year!! CANCEL! I did research before selecting this group, but I wish I would have seen a review like this so I could have kept looking. We will find one that we trust...because we do NOT trust this organization!
