I am a proud donor to Roots of Peace whose mission is to remove deadly landmines and return the land to productive use. From saving lives to returning farmers to their homes and farms, Roots of Peace has restored the dignity and income to thousands of people who've been horribly impacted by war and conflict. Their approach is to assist farmers to plant high-value crops on de-mined land while developing the farmer-to-market chain to create new markets for these crops. Over 700,000 fruit and nut trees have been planted in Afghanistan alone, providing an alternative to poppies, lifting farmers out of poverty, and reducing carbon emissions on our planet.
