My father sponsored two children for many years. When he passed away, we decided to continue the Childfund. We informed the children about his death. We received a "so-called thank you letter" back. No mention of the death of my father. They even mentioned the wrong addressee. It was clearly written by somebody in the US and not in Africa. The date was written MMDDYYYY and not DDMMYYYY.

For us, this looks like a scam.
