I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to the Fallen and Wounded Soldiers Fund, especially Dr. Lynn Phillips. I am a disabled veteran and I recently went through a difficult time and fell really behind on rent and living expenses. I was getting so far behind on my rent that i was being mailed eviction notices and i had 10 days to pack up my things and leave my home or the bailiff would come remove me from my home and my things would have been in the yard. I reached out to this amazing and supportive organization that help veterans and very quickly they really went to bat for me, and were able to pay the past due amount that will stop the eviction and keep me in my home. As a disabled veteran, it is just myself, i have no family or close friends to help or rely on, so without their help i would have lost my belongings and been on the street and homeless. A couple days after first reaching out to FAWSF, the bailiff came to my house and put a 24 hour eviction on my home. I never even was given a 10 day notice or enough time to figure something out. Dr Phillips came to my rescue, literally. It was an answer to prayer and I’m honestly humbled and so thankful that i received their help. Thank you never seems like enough. One day I’m hoping to give back so i can pay it forward to other veterans in need. Thank you again and God bless.
