Review for Sanctuary One, Jacksonville, OR, USA
I have volunteered at many places and what stands out with Sanctuary One is the kindness to both animals and volunteers. They truly are appreciative of the help. And the animals get much more individual attention. I just love to take the dogs for a walk on their beautiful 55+ acre property. And the dogs love it too!!
The cats can stay inside in a nice large warm room with lots of windows or go outside into a closed-in patio. There are cat trees, couch, chairs and many toys to play with.
The horses, pigs, llamas, goats, and sheep have many acres of pasture. Then at night they can all come into a VERY large barn.
While there are many rescues for dogs, cats and horses, Sanctuary One takes in ALL farm animals! And it just SO peaceful. They are THE BEST!!
Review for Sanctuary One, Jacksonville, OR, USA
I've volunteered at many places over the years and Sanctuary One is my favorite! The animals are well cared for and have lots of space to roam. The people here are very knowledgeable and nice to work with. I love to take the dogs for a walk in the woods! There are not many places that you have that option. It's the only place around here, that I know of, that will take in farm animals and that's so important! This includes lamas, alpacas, pigs, cows, chickens, horses and goats. Where else could these animals go? As you can see from the photos, all the farm animals get along. The large barn in the back is shelter for them all. That's not all... they grow vegetables and donate it to our local food bank, so they help people too!! If you visit for the day, you won't want to leave :)
