Review for The Borgen Project, Tacoma, WA, USA
I love TheBorgenProject - as an organization, it is caring and supportive, works to make the world better, supports bipartisanship, and uses the power of communication to make broad, lasting changes for those in need.
I volunteered with The Borgen Project from September to December 2019 as a Political Intern. I learned so much during the experience, like how to effectively lobby my members of Congress, how to have constructive discussions about international affairs during a time of domestic focus, and how to push through the "no"'s to get to "yes". I am a better advocate because of their relentless dedication to educate and encourage me (and the team) through the short 3 months.
I was also very impressed with the Leadership Team when they reached out to me for a workshop. I was a new intern, but I have professional experience in coaching toward habit change. They noticed this and asked for a refresher. I felt honored, but even more so I could see how these leaders work hard to be their best selves, changing their own routines to continually improve. This kind of culture is rare in advocacy, and is a crucial element to making this organization grow!
I highly recommend The Borgen Project to volunteers of any age who want to advocate, learn, grow, and contribute.
