Senior dogs is where it’s at, and I was on a mission to find another sweet, old dog to welcome into my home. Only one stipulation: they had to be amenable to cuddling with my 14-year old Puggle, because it’s his house, too, and if Jim wants a snuggle buddy, a snuggle buddy he shall have. I met one senior fella at a volunteer/foster’s (Tammi’s) home - he was lovely but I could tell he wasn’t quite what Jim (or I) were in need of. You see, I had lost three senior dogs in the span of 8 months, and Jim and I needed something special. About a week later, I got a text from Tammi saying “I think I just found your dog” and boy was she right! I arranged to meet the dog Tammi had been raving about on a Friday at a local pet store, and I walked in to see the most beautiful, slightly plus-sized, senior yellow lab I had ever laid eyes on. She was incredibly sweet, had a few old lady bumps, and made friends with everyone and everything. Needless to say, she went home with me that day and Jim was instantly smitten, just like I was! She is doted on by my friends and they call to request play dates with her, even inviting her to partake in their New Year's Eve celebrations. This sweet old lady, now known as Fran, is my consummate shadow and the sweetest thing on four legs. I am grateful to Speak for The Unspoken and Tammi for finding my best girl!
