My Nonprofit Reviews

Review for Second Wind Dreams, Inc., Roswell, GA, USA
I have been Volunteering with Second Wind Dreams for just over a year now and it has been the most fulfilling thing I have ever volunteered to do. I have experienced meeting some of the greatest Elders and seeing their dreams be fulfilled no matter how small. The Virtual Dementia Tour is one of the most enlightening and educating programs I have ever had the privilege to be a part of. If you are looking for a heart filling over flowing with love experience...this is the one for you whether it be as a volunteer or give a gift you can't go wrong! I have cried with, laughed with and enjoyed every elder I have had the pleasure to meet. As a Dream weaver you actually get to know the elder and find out about those things they wish they could have or would have done, or maybe that person they wish they could see again. My favorites are the dreams of having a new pair of slippers, warm socks, home cooked meal, simple things that most of us take for granted. The work that SWD does is beyond anything you will ever experience. Volunteer.....I do and will continue to do so as long as I am able!!!
More Feedback
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
Virtual Dementia Tour Program, Dream Weaving, Dream Fulfillment, Training Volunteers and so much more!
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
not change a thing! I might though encourage others to check them out and find out just what they can do to help with, time money or in kind donations. All would be greatly appreciated and no gift is too small!

Did your volunteer experience have an effect on you? (teaching you a new skill, or introducing new friends, etc.)
Absolutely, I am more aware of the lives and experiences of some of the most interesting seniors/elders in this country. From what I have seen come to fruition, I have a deeper understanding of Elder-Care facility needs and the needs and desires of Residents who live there. I have a deeper understanding of the Dementia Conditions and a better understanding of what can be done when done with the right heart.
How did this volunteer experience make you feel?
My heart is filled with pride and humbleness and blessed with knowing that I could make a difference in the lives of so many by doing so little.
