I began my contact with Terry at the Arabian Rescue Mission after seeing a Facebook post about a herd of Arabian horses needing new homes. My husband and I had recently purchased a farm and had been looking to add a companion horse to our family to keep our pony company. Right away, my eyes were drawn to an older mare as I scrolled through the photos Terry posted online. The process to adopt her was simple, quick, but thorough. Terry and her crew made sure that these horses were going to be taken care of in the future. Once I filled out the application and sent in references and photos of our farm, I received approval very quickly. I was able to drive to meet Ebony the same week and we brought her home shortly thereafter. As an adopter of an older, relatively unhandled mare, of course there were concerns, but everything was in order when I arrived to pick her up. I received a folder with her papers and copies of her Coggins test - all very organized. I have been able to stay in contact with her previous owners and others who have adopted some of her daughters and sons to share photos and training progress. All in all, we are completely satisfied!
