Review for Baltimore Woods Nature Center Inc, Marcellus, NY, USA
My children spent many summers here;learned to enjoy, respect and care for the environment in real ways. Both volunteered as camp counselors to extend their experiences and to help pass on the whole concept of stewardship to younger children. They are now looking at careers in environmental science in part as a result of their experiences here.

Review for Baltimore Woods Nature Center Inc, Marcellus, NY, USA
My 2 boys were introduced to enjoying and respecting nature at Baltimore Woods along with social and survival skills at their summer camp. The instruction was engaging and invited analytical critical thinking.I was impressed by highly trained staff and the inclusiveness of the camps. The annual tradition of camp with many friends, lead to volunteering as camp counselors, and a real sense of stewardship for the environment. Both are planning college in Enviornmental Science. As a family we have hiked participated in group presentations and enjoyed the interpretive center. Our lives have benefited

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
the imact it makes on the perspective of children and how their actions can impact the enviornment they live in.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
continue with the same approaches as currently in place.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
that it is not only inclusive but through outreach called Nature in the City it utilizes neighborhood parks and streams to teach inner city populations how enjoy, value and preserve the environment
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
Skilled, Knowledgeable, and responsive to populations they were working with.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
develop a trust for maintenance and provide for those populations without means through scholarship for their summer camps w/ transportation.
Ways to make it better...
there was some provision for over night camps at the site
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
the financial cost of maintenance to the center and grounds, and providing access for populations without means.
One thing I'd also say is that...
many of the ongoing staff are active members of the community in other areas throughout the year and are continually seeking means of outreach
