I have been involved with PWC as a committee member, volunteer, and Board member for about 4 years. PWC's business model ensures dollars are used effectively to deliver the maximum value and impact. Their quest for continuous improvement in service delivery has resulted in use of a new ramp system as an option to wood ramp installations ... the ramps are easy to assembly, can be done quicker than building a traditional wood ramp, offer flexible design options, and can be re-assigned when the homeowner no longer requires the ramp. I found the system easy to work with and quick to learn. The PWC personnel delivering service in client's homes have been trained to assess the "full house" and their attention to the big picture enables them to make smart decisions about the best way to maintain the client's home and keeps them alert to unstated client needs. During field visits I've seen the respect and concern PWC employees show our clients.

I've had discussions with a number of our clients and learned first hand about the positive impact PWC has had on their lives. Our clients told me that they had run out of options when they became aware of PWC and that because of help from PWC they feel safer in their homes. The Modifications for Mobility program has made it easier for clients to move around in their homes, to get in and out of the house, and has reduced the concerns of caregives trying to move and care for clients.

I would like to see PWC's whole house model of service assessment and delivery be recognized by more community leaders as a model system and to gain their support in promoting PWC as a community asset and to gain their help to remove political roadblocks. PWC is trying to work this but we can use help.
