I have volunteered as a citizenship tutor with the Latino Community Association and its annual Latino Fest. LCA is a vital part of the community, providing classes,tutors, and many other services for the Latino community. What’s wonderful about LCA in Madras, where I live is the hard work they have done to connect with the larger community. Latino Fest in particular is one of the best run community events I have seen. It draws people of all ethnicities together for a family friendly party in the park. LCA is also branching out, providing a parenting summit and more community-wide events. It’s a positive organization working in a difficult political environment. The staff is outstanding. Madras would not be the same without LCA.
